Mannone seals Sunderland move
By Tom Humphrey
Arsenal’s third string goalkeeper Vito Mannone has today completed a permanent move to Premier League club Sunderland for an undisclosed fee believed to be in the region of £1.5m – £2m.
The transfer brings to an end Mannone’s 8 year spell at the club, one that saw him make 23 appearances for the first-team. He had loan spells at Barnsley and Hull during his time at Arsenal.
I think the move will certainly benefit Mannone as I can certainly see him getting more games at Sunderland and with Mignolet gone, perhaps even being their number 1 goalkeeper.
He’s a good goalkeeper and whenever he was called upon he did his best for us. A few errors were made in games, but that’s understandable for a keeper with very little experience in the first-team.
I’d like to wish Mannone all the best at Sunderland and I hope he develops into a first-team goalkeeper at Sunderland.
