Barclays Premier League: Fulham 1-3 Arsenal
By Tom Humphrey
*I would like to start this blog post with an apology for not being able to write a preview for this game. I have had a very busy last few days and this type up will be short. I wrote my Flamini piece and managed to get that up onto the site yesterday, just to help keep the site updated*. This type up of the game will also be fairly brief, due to me being up early for work tomorrow.
Arsenal recorded an impressive 3-1 win at Craven Cottage earlier today to secure their first points of the new season. Lukas Podolski returned to the starting line-up for the first time this season and returned in style.
Olivier Giroud got things started with a goal 14 minutes in, before Lukas Podolski netted twice, once before the break and the other midway through the second half.
Darren Bent, making his debut for Fulham, came off the bench to give Fulham hope with just under 15 minutes to go.
Arsenal stood firm against any Fulham pressure nearer the end and recorded a very impressive 3-1 win.
It was great to see Podolski make the most of his start today. Two goals will do his confidence the world of good and prove a point to Arsene Wenger, who hasn’t been starting him much recently. Very happy for him as I believe he is one of the best players at the club.
Apologies for the very brief posting, my schedule has been very busy of late!. If you want a longer report this week, I would suggest reading the BBC Football website report on the game or the one on Arsenal.com as they are always good reads.
