Rumour Mill Transfer Ratings

It’s only been a few days after the FA Cup final was played and the rumour mill has churned out the first few names to be linked with Arsenal this window:

1. Carlos Vela

The Mexican striker was sold to Real Sociedad but apparently there is a clause stating Arsenal can buy him back for a transfer fee in the region of roughly £3m. It seems to be good value considering he has had a decent season in La Liga but he didn’t really get to grips with the English game and should probably only be considered in an emergency.

Chance of this Transfer happening? 2/10

2. Loic Remy

Arsenal’s love of French players is well-known and Remy’s goalscoring prowess was the only highlight in an otherwise dire season for Newcastle. Arsenal need new striker and whilst most fans would prefer a marquee signing maybe improving general squad depth and quality would be a better way forward? If this is the route Arsene wants to take then he could do a lot worse than signing Remy.

3. Yaya Toure

If you follow any rumours to do with the Premier League then you will have heard that Yaya Toure is apparently unhappy at Manchester City following a row over a lack of respect. The marauding midfielder is unhappy that the owners did not acknowledge his birthday in a proper manner. Toure would improve any team but would Arsenal stump up the wages that Toure would demand? Or will Wenger deem him too good to miss out on?

Quite simply the rumour mill is simply churning out names and people are associating them with Arsenal, as per usual at this time of year. I’m not sure any of these names will be walking out at the Emirates in Arsenal colours next season, but stranger things have happened.
