Transfer Rumours: Midfield reinforcements on way?
Yesterday the Rumour Mill appeared to be kicking out names that were either not the calibre of player Arsenal should be moving for, or simply big players that were rumoured to be moving. However overnight there seems to be more real evidence of players being brought to the Emirates.
1. Carlos Vela
Yes I know that I mentioned Vela yesterday and said his transfer was unlikely, but more details have come out about a potential deal. Arsenal look set to exercise their right to purchase the Mexican for around £3m either to bolster their squad or to sell him for profit almost immediately as his performances in La Liga this season have commanded a much higher valuation than Arsenal’s clause. According to ibtimes Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta has added weight to the rumour by saying he would like to play alongside Vela at Arsenal next season.
(Updated) Chance of this Transfer happening? 9/10 (but for how long is anyone’s guess…)
2. Julian Draxler
After being linked pretty much all of last summer to the German midfielder it seems that the link has re-emerged, or maybe it never went away. The Schalke midfielder is reported to have held “informal talks” about a proposed move to the Premier League and all parties are interested in getting the best deal possible. Schalke will hold out for something close to their asking price to help them reinforce once Draxler moves, a price thought to be around $44.5m. Will Wenger fork out that much to sign this German wonderkid? I for one hope he does, but how much do we need another attacking midfielder?

3. Cesc Fabregas
Yes you read that right, he could be coming back. New Barcelona boss Luis Enrique looks set to make changes to the Barcelona squad who failed to pick up piece of silverware this year, and Fabregas may well be one of those who is going to make way. According to footballdirectnews La Marca has stated that Fabregas would prefer going back to Arsenal than to Manchester United due to the latter’s lack of Champions League football. If he is leaving the Nou Camp this summer, I’m sure many Arsenal fans would love to see Cesc back in the red and white of Arsenal as soon as possible.
