Transfer Rumour Round-up
As promised we at Pain in the Arsenal are going to do our best to keep you up to date with all the latest in transfer news and rumours, and give an update on how likely we think they’re going to be.
Sami Khedira
The German holding midfielder has been linked quite heavily with a £15m move to Arsenal since Real Madrid’s Champions League victory on Saturday evening. The move would make sense as Khedira only has one year on his contract and Arsenal could use a World Class holding midfielder to provide an anchor for their extremely creative squad. Flamini did a decent job this season but is the wrong side of 30, and at £15m Arsene Wenger will feel this transfer is better value for money than other deals bringing another creative force to the club for £30m+

Asmir Begovic I said recently in my potential future Arsenal lineup that Arsenal do not need to go chasing a new goalkeeper unless available at a decent price. Begovic has proven himself as one of the league’s best keepers and if AW can pull off a bargain transfer then he would be well worth it. Begovic’s shot stopping ability is arguably the best in the league and personally I would play him over Szczesny as the first choice keeper. The reported fee is around £8m, not a bad price for reliability between the sticks.

Atsuto Uchida
Arsenal are being linked with a lot of right-backs at the moment, and whilst most of them are going to come to nothing this rumour is probably second in strength to Serge Aurier. The Schalke and Japan defender has been one of the Bundesliga’s most consistent performers and this could well be a shrewd move by the Arsenal boss as he would come at a slightly lower price than Aurier and at 26 he could be a long term fixture in defence.
