Transfer Rumour updates
No brand new news for you today, but updates on how two striker transfer possibilities are panning out.
Loic Remy
The QPR striker is almost definitely on his way out of the London club after manager Harry Redknapp acknowledged an £8m transfer clause in his contract. This would make his a bargain buy for proven Premier League scoring talent. As Swansea slapped a £25m price-tag on Bony you would have to think Wenger would prefer Remy at 1/3 of the price to add to their squad. They will have to fight Liverpool for his signature as they look to bolster their squad in an effort maintain their league success and compete in Europe. It will almost definitely boil down to the striker’s own decision and who knows where his mind is right now as he prepares to start a World Cup campaign with France.
Karim Benzema
If both of these players come to Arsenal, then Wenger will have control of the entire French attacking line. AW himself dropped the biggest hint yet that he is interested in bringing the Real Madrid striker to London during the Champions League final in which he stated “He may have played his last game for Madrid,” and “I am sure he will play in the Premier League one day.” However we all know Wenger can be extremely coy in how he approaches his transfer targets and the same reports that say Benzema is on his way to Arsenal also say that Balotelli is closing in on a £24m transfer to the English capital, so make what you want of these reports.
The transfer rumours are getting more intense now as clubs know they will have to sort out the transfers before the World Cup or wait until after, as no player involved in the World’s biggest tournament will want any distractions to take away from the occasion.
