Arsenal Transfer Update

facebooktwitterreddit

With the World Cup less than two weeks away most teams will either be looking to wrap up transfers quickly or wait until the tournament concludes to start strengthening their squad. With the contract of the manager sewn up here is your latest Arsenal transfer update.

The first piece of positive news is that Arsene Wenger has come out and said that Arsenal will have “A big summer” after losing Bacary Sagna to Manchester. He has acknowledged that Arsenal have sometimes been left behind by their rivals in the transfer window but wanted to back up last year’s signing of play-maker Mesut Ozil with at least one more big name signing.

  • Cesc Fabregas

Despite the rumours swirling about Cesc’s apparent transfer to the Premier League, it seems that Barcelona have no intention of selling. President Josep Maria Bartemou has gone on record stating that the Spanish midfielder is not for sale. The Metro report that Bartemou has warned both Arsenal and Manchester United off of bids for players they have not categorically announced are up for sale, stating that Barcelona are not the type of club who sell their best talent. Arsenal shouldn’t be too worried about this, as long as he’s not available to join any Manchester clubs either.

    Falcao

It seems Arsenal have been linked with another World Class striker, and although Falcao would be an amazing signing I fear this is just another pipe transfer dream rumour for Arsenal and chasing more affordable and likely targets would be a better use of time and effort for Arsene.
