Premier League Predictions: 16th

facebooktwitterreddit

Carrying on with the bottom half of the table, we’re now looking at teams who are surviving life in the Premier League with a little bit of comfort….in theory anyway.

Team: Leicester

Manager: Nigel Pearson

This is his second stint with the foxes and his longest spell at a single club, and when that’s only 3 years you have to wonder what he’s doing to get hired and fired so quickly from the other clubs. Personally he seems more of a coach than a manger, but he will want his players to work hard for himself and the fans, something that should keep them in the Premier League this year.

Key Player: David Nugent

The striker is so important to the teams play and not just in the goals he provides, although 20 goals in the last season certainly helped them take them to the Championship title. He really is a talisman and his self belief could provide a lot of goals at crucial times for the Foxes.

Best feature: Team Play

Not only did they win the Championship last year, they played good football and were worth winners. They played to their strengths and defended as a team, and they did a lot more than just work hard. They worked as a team and I think that’s what will keep them up, every single member of that squad is willing to give 100% for the team. There’s no I in a team run by Nigel Pearson.

Worst Feature: No star quality

  • Broken record time. I think they’re going to struggle as the season draws on due to the fact every 90 minutes is going to be tough for them, despite having decent goalscorers I don’t think any of them are Premier League stars. If they don’t reinforce I fear a case of second-season syndrome.

    PIA Writer’s opinions:

BW: “I don’t think Leicester will survive the Premier League this well, adding players on free transfer is not the solution to an ageing team, lack of potential star talent means this team will not have much success . 18th”
