Arsenal Injury News – Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere Out

facebooktwitterreddit

It’s not even surprising anymore when Arsenal players go down for the count. Last year it was just about everyone – Theo Walcott, Mesut Ozil, Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey and more sporadic injuries throughout the year. This year, we’re already down Olivier Giroud, Mathieu Debuchy and still Theo Walcott and now we’ve added Mikel Arteta and the ever-injured Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey.

When Arsene Wenger added the German International fitness coach Shad Forsythe, many Arsenal fans thought that our injury woes were over. Well, we were wrong.

Thanks to Arsene Wenger’s midfield hoarding, we aren’t in the worst situation ever

Arsenal were tops in the Premier League last year before the injury bug dragged them steadily down until they settled on a fourth place finished that they held onto for dear life. This year, we’re starting in fourth and the injury bug is here.

Needless to say, this doesn’t bode well.

All three aforementioned midfielders will miss the champions league match against Galatasaray, with Arteta and Ramsey also out for this weekends crucial clash with first-place Chelsea.

Arteta (calf) and Ramsey (hamstring) were both immediately subbed at their own request while Wilshere pressed on after turning his ankle, only to be taken off in the 63rd minute.

Is there any good news?

Yes. For one, Ozil looks pretty dominant and ready to take control of the team. He now has the opening to slot in at the No. 10 spot and Arsene Wenger would be a fool not let him play there.

Secondly, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is rampaging all over the field and needs to be starting. He now has that opportunity.

Finally, Theo Walcott is due back within the next couple weeks. But being due back and actually coming back are two different things.

See, it’s not ALL bad… just mostly. Obviously we’re all looking forward to the return of the three midfielders, but thanks to Arsene Wenger’s midfield hoarding, we aren’t in the worst situation ever. Everyone just say your prayers that Alexis and Ozil stay healthy.
