Aaron Ramsey Injury May Cripple Arsenal Yet Again
By Josh Sippie
Aaron Ramsey left early in Arsenal’s rather disappointing North London Derby with an apparant hamstring injury and we have now learned that he will miss 4-6 weeks with a partial tear.
If that doesn’t get you sick to your stomach, I don’t know what will.
Aaron Ramsey was outstanding last year until he was smitten with an injury that kept him sidelined for several months. During those several months, Arsenal declined drastically and lost their grip on the top spot in the Premier League.
This year, the injury comes at a time where Ramsey was not in his best form, but the results may turn out to be quite similar.
Ramsey is absolutely crucial to the success of Arsenal and his absence will leave a gaping hole in midfield. That is, unless Mesut Ozil can continue to step up and control the game.

But even then, Ozil is not the box-to-box presence that Aaron Ramsey is. Jack Wilshere is similar, but his ankle injury has sidelined him as well. All of a sudden, Arsenal’s stacked mifield is incredibly thin (like every other position).
It just seems grossly unfair that this is happening again. Arsenal’s potential when healthy is limitless, but when we’re forced to slot in Flamini, Arteta and who knows who else, it’s a pale representation of what this team really is.
We still have Alexis (barring any more silly moves by Wenger) and the Ox is playing well. Ozil is in great form and Welbeck is on the verge of a breakout, but we don’t have a midfielder who can drive from the back and push the attack forward like Wilshere and the Welshman.
On the bright side, Jack Wilshere is healthy, and he has all the skill necessary to take over in midfield, he just has to rise to the occasion.
