Arsenal Transfer Rumors: Tyrone Mings, Marcelo Brozovic
By Josh Sippie
Most readers that happen across this title will think to themselves, “Oh look, Arsene Wenger is scoping out two more 16-year old prospects.”
Well, that assessment is only partially true.
All of a sudden, Arsenal have gone full circle and have a full-on shortage at every position except… wait for it… striker?
With Mesut Ozil out, Aaron Ramsey out, Mikel Arteta out and Mathieu Falmini about as useful as a wet napkin, what once was a midfield powerhouse is now supported by an up-and-coming Jack Wilshere and a stoic Santi Cazorla (I’m not counting wingers). Hence the interest in this ‘Marcelo Brozovic’ character from Dinamo Zagreb.

The 21-year old Croatian plays center midfield (so, left wing for Wenger) and was on display at the World Cup. As such, he’s attracted numerous English club’s attention, though only Arsenal are being named (sounds fishy). Regardless, it would obviously be a boost to nab a potentially dynamic midfielder in the midst of another injury crisis (and not a 54-year old Swede with a bad back).
The other name that’s being swirled around is another 21-year old, but this one an English left back for Ipswich Town named Tyrone Mings. Why Arsenal are looking to add a defender that specializes in the one role we already have two ample defenders at is beyond me, but it’s Wenger so I’m sure he has overthought this extensively.
Either way, we need signings in January. If these two are the answer, then let’s make it happen and be happy with it. Beggars can’t be choosers, but you know we will try our best to be.
