Arsenal VS Hull City: Back to Basics

facebooktwitterreddit

After that horrible Chelsea game and a week off for the international break, I am not as upset as I thought I would be. International breaks are usually when Arsenal start losing more members of the already thin team, but the only real loss since the last time Arsenal played is Mesut Ozil.

Losing Ozil is bad, but luckily his position of the pitch is the only position Arsenal are relatively stacked in.With that in mind I see Arsenal getting back to winning their ways and holding down the fort till players like Ramsey and Ozil start making their way back to full fitness. Arsenal VS Hull City will be a good game and although I don’t think Arsenal will play very well I still think they have enough talent and quality to get an easy win.

Prediction: Arsenal 3-1 Hull City

1) Our true No.10: Jack Wilshere

Based on the numbers players wear, Jack Wilshere is Arsenal’s No. 10 and with Ozil gone for a while I am excited to see Wilshere take up the position behind Danny Welbeck. Wilshere has shown gradual improvement this year and lets be honest, everyone in England should be cheering him on and wishing him the best.

If Wilshere lives up to his potential and has a Ramsey like break out season at the No.10 spot, Arsenal fans will go crazy! Look for Wilshere to make an immediate impact in this preferred position, and lets all pray that he doesn’t get injured.

2) More speed down the flanks

Before Ozil got hurt and rumors of him wanting to leave came up, the story of the week was all about Theo Walcott coming back. An Arsenal lineup with Walcott and Sanchez would be very fast and that speed would allow midfielders to drop deeper and support the defense by staying behind the ball. Walcott’s pace is something that is irreplaceable and when he starts getting fit, he will provide attacking routes behind the opponents defense, something Arsenal severely misses in his absence.

3) Midfield Talent

Despite being very thin in almost every department, Arsenal is relatively well-off in the attacking midfield part of the pitch. The attacking midfield of Arsenal is one of the best and deepest in England and just because we lost Ozil doesn’t mean anything in the grand scheme of things. There is a huge collection of talented, creative players in Arsenal’s bench and youth system. Maybe with this Ozil injury, it will finally be the time for some of these youngsters to make a Cese Fabregas like impression and take over Arsenal fan’s hearts.
