Calm Down Arsenal, Pep Guardiola is Not Coming to Replace Arsene Wenger
By Josh Sippie
Rumors are my favorite thing in the world, particularly rumors with absolutely no backing whatsoever, coupled with being completely unreasonable. This is one such rumor, because Pepe Guardiola has a 0% chance of coming to Arsenal.
Arsene Wenger is set to move on at the end of next season and in typical media fashion, the speculation is running wild as to who the next Professor will be.
Initial reports state that Arsene Wenger has already approved his successor – Paul Clement. I’m a fan of this move, but it’s no doubt a controversial one. Having no managerial experience and being expected to take the reigns of one of the most storied and successful clubs in European football is a huge responsibility. The perks are that he’s learned under some excellent managers and Arsene Wenger will still be around to help out.

Then there were the Jurgen Klopp reports, which made a little more sense, seeing as how he and Wenger play a very similar style of football and Klopp is struggling mightily in league play at Borussia Dortmund. But still, it’s a long shot.
The most entertaining of all is the concept of Pep Guardiola coming to Arsenal. The head man at Bayern Munich has one year left on his contract, but he is absolutely demolishing the opposition in the Bundesliga. He’s got an unlimited budget, which he’s using happily, and the only thing that links him to Arsenal is the timing of their contracts.
The Premier League may indeed be Pep Guardiola’s next outlet, but Arsenal is not the destination that makes sense. After all, I don’t think that he is at all what Arsenal are looking for.
Clement is the answer. I like this prospect and it makes sense from an Arsenal and Arsene Wenger perspective.
