Jack Wilshere’s Improvements Being Noticed By Xavi

It’s always nice to have your hard work pay off. It’s even nicer when that hard work pays off and you get noticed by one of the best midfielder’s in the history of the game.

Such is the case with Jack Wilshere. After a stop-and-go start to his career that’s been riddled with injuries and inconsistency, Wilshere is finally starting to live up to the heaps of expectation that have been piled on him. While he still hasn’t put up the goals that he expects of himself, the young Englishman’s passion for his Gunners cannot be measured by statistics.

Now, the Barcelona star midfielder Xavi has come out and called Wilshere “an amazing player, very good” according to Goal.com.

In a world ravaged by criticism for Arsenal’s star players (Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil, Jack Wilshere), it’s refreshing to see a man like Xavi, who knows the game and who’s one of the best midfielder’s we’ve seen in quite some time, come out with such praise. He knows what it takes to be a successful midfielder and according to his, dare I say “expert” opinion, Wilshere has what it takes.

Wilshere has been playing the deep-lying defensive midfielder role for the English National team and a box-to-box style for Arsenal and he’s proven to be more than capable of handling both styles.

Given more time and a good string of health, Wilshere can still grow to be one of the best midfielders in the world. He was in a unique situation not so long ago where he had a good grasp on some of the more difficult aspects of the game, but the simple things continued to elude him. He’s starting to bridge the gap into a really consistent midfielder.
