Jack Wilshere Injury Could Derail Arsenal Season Even Further
By Josh Sippie
Jack Wilshere was looking stellar all game. He was clearly riding the momentum of his successes with the English National team into his play for Arsenal, where he’s forced to play in a more advanced role.
Wilshere was the absolute catalyst. He got himself into excellent position and, while he was unable to finish, he found the gaps and in time, will start converting those chances.
Not only that, but he got to display some of the bulldog mentality that endears him to Arsenal fans. When Marouane Fellaini took offense to Wilshere, the foot-shorter Englishman turned and buried his head into the chest of the afro-wielding Belgian. It was an offense that could very well have merited any sort of punishment but none was given.

This was Jack Wilshere in his prime. Prior to the ankle injury, he was living up to all the potential he’s been harnessing over the years. And so cruelly, as it’s done his entire career, an injury swept in and robbed him of his form and of any sort of semblance of hope that he’d be back soon.
So now we’re back to the waiting game with Wilshere.
Referred to as “glass-ankle” syndrome, Wilshere has had bad ankles his entire career, and they struck again at the worst time possible. As soon as he left, Arsenal’s attack clearly started to slow and deteriorate.
Whether you love him or hate him (because there is no in between), you have to feel sick for Wilshere. He immediately waved for the training staff and did his best to carry on but he was physically unable.
Best wishes to Jack Wilshere. The lad deserves some good health for once.
