Theo Walcott looked fit as a fiddle when he came on against Burnley and he nearly nabbed himself a goal and an assist in just ten minutes of play. Everything seemed peachy.
And then the news came that he tweaked a groin while training for England and all of Gooner nation let out a collective groan and picked their hearts up from the pit of their stomachs.

Theo Walcott is an absolute joy to watch and an asset to the team when healthy. I’ve been salivating over the idea of him and Ozil and Alexis and the Ox all joining together in one attack. But those dreams have remained just that, dreams, as Walcott is yet again on the injury list.
The good news is that he doesn’t need the surgery that was feared. He’s just going to need some treatment and some training.
Arsene Wenger told Arsenal.com, “The signs are quite good. He has had two days of training now but he now lacks competition and fitness to come back to a good level.”
Obviously we want to see the speedy winger now but this is the next best thing. At least we know he’s on the right path and at the very least, it’ll only be a couple more weeks. We don’t have to rush him back with the excellent form that Alexis and the Ox are in so he can take his time. Plus we know Wenger will be extra cautious with him given his proneness to re-injury.
Walcott (like Wilshere) is long overdue for a run of good health, and he’ll be getting healthy just when we need him, for the second half of the season and down the home stretch.
