4. Proving a Point

Spectacular free kick goals are a dime a dozen nowadays, but this one by Henry showed a bit more gumption than the rest. It wasn’t just a spectacular free kick goal, it proved a point.

Henry had attempted to play the free kick quickly but was frustratingly called back by the referee. In response to the undesirable call, he went ahead and deposited the ball into the back of the net.

While it may (rightly) be seen as arrogance that he gloated with an “is that enough” pose, arrogance can endear you to the fans quicker than anything else. As if he needed to be endeared more.
