With Edinson Cavani being a constant name on Arsenal transfer rumor lists world wide, I thought it might be beneficial to break the transfer prospect down according to the proven facts about the situation. If we focus on the bare bones of the potential move and weed out all the rumors of his unhappiness, the rumors of a deal being closed in on and the rumors that Cavani and Wenger are already best of friends and go bowling every Tuesday night, we can really get a good image on the plausibility of this transfer.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Granted, not every press conference is completely honest (just look at Arsene Wenger), but body language and connotation is hard to miss, and both Wenger and Edinson Cavani have given us plenty of fuel to work with. The most recent rumor that PSG are ready to accept a bid from Arsenal has very little proven backing and reeks of another baseless rumor facade.

I don’t think I need to state Cavani’s value. We saw what he did in a striking role at Napoli and what he continues to do for Uruguay. He is a striker through and through and Arsenal could obviously benefit from such a talent.

I also firmly believe that if freed from the non-striker role he has at PSG, he would burst onto the scene with a vengeance and absolutely decimate the opposition.

But back to the main point of this article, I’ve taken some of the key points and facts surround the Edinson Cavani escapade and laid it out in chronological order to show what we know for sure about this prospect. So here’s the basic timeline of what we know for sure based on word of mouth from the two most important parties involved – Arsene Wenger and Edinson Cavani.
