Cheick Tiote to Arsenal Not Believable, He’s not Worthy
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal finally completed their first signing of the winter with Krystian Bielik coming to the Emirates and rumors are swirling that Villarreal defenseman Gabriel Paulista is soon to follow for around 15 million pounds, which puts Arsenal very near to their spending limit.

We know Arsene Wenger is not a luxury spender, so rumors have to be taken with a grain of salt, and this latest rumor emulating from the likes of Cheick Tiote isn’t even worth that.
Tiote is a hotheaded, temperamental and rash midfielder who would give Wenger more headaches than Gervinho did. That in and of itself is enough to dismiss the rumor, but there are plenty of other reasons to have a chuckle at it.
Nine million pounds for a 28-year old of Tiote’s quality is a joke as well. And what is it with half of Newcastle wanting to move to Arsenal? I guess we should be flattered, but no thanks.
With the all-but-set move of Morgan Schneiderlin coming to Arsenal this summer and the Messianic-like emergence of Francis Coquelin in midfield, I cannot see any reason why Arsene Wenger would sign a midfielder. Last winter he needed a midfielder worse than ever and he opted for an old Swede with a bad back.
While I don’t know many of you out there who were really holding out hope and preparing your credit card for a Tiote Arsenal kit, I’ll go ahead and apologize to any of you who were, because it isn’t happening. If anything, he’d make our midfield worse.
