Yet another player who has been linked to Arsenal since the days of yore. According to Mundo Deportivo, which, if you can’t read Spanish, just trust the Metro’s interpretation (I know that’s hard, but bear with me), Bender was targeted by Barcelona as well, but given the restrictions on their transfer market freedoms, Bender is therefore only being courted by Arsenal.

Arsenal are rumored to be willing to pay 22 million pounds for the 25 year old, which in my personal opinion seems a little high, given Coquelin’s emergence and the lack of a real need for the German.

He’d provide good cover in midfield, but for 22 million pounds, we could find much better value somewhere else.
