I don’t think I was the only one who enjoyed the display Gabriel put on in place of Per Mertesacker. But now we have a delicate situation. I could definitely see Wenger opting for the experience of Mertesacker, but should the BFG put in a bad performance, Gooner’s will absolutely revolt on the lumbering German.
Gabriel is riding a momentum wave. Sure, it was only one game, but he proved to be a quick learner, a deft defender and a crucial part of the team defense.
I would be disappointed to not be able to see the Brazilian scouring the pitch yet again.
