Petr Cech

This rumor has baffled me throughout it’s existence, but alas, it still exists. Last summer, Arsene Wenger spent money to sign David Ospina, a steadily-improving goalie from the hotshot Colombian National team. At 26-years of age, he has plenty of room to grow with the team and he’s done very well thus far.

And then there’s Wojciech Szczesny, whom Arsene Wenger says is still Arsenal’s first-choice keeper. At 25-years of age, he still has plenty of room to grow too, although he has already won the golden gloves last year. So he’s pretty good.

Then there’s Petr Cech, the long-time goalie of our dear friends at Chelsea. Arsenal were reportedly considering a summer bid for the keeper (per the Telegraph), but I still don’t see why, especially with Jose Mourinho claiming that a huge fee must be received for the 32-year old keeper.

Arsenal need a long-term solution at keeper, and I’m thinking that of the three names here, I’d chose the first two over Cech.
