The Express cites Mikel Arteta as one of four Arsenal players that are likely going to make way for the arrival of Morgan Schneiderlin, but I’m not sure Arsenal would up and sell the captain just like that.

Despite being injured and appearing in only seven games this year, Arteta has served as the captain of the team (which, if you ask Vermaelen or Cesc Fabreagas, could be the kiss of death) and I feel like he’s one player who has such loyalty to the team and who Arsene Wenger has such loyalty for that he may stay around.

As you can see in the article from the Independent, it makes sense that Arteta would be one that Arsenal would want to hold on to as a mentor for the younger players. The question is whether or not Arteta wants that. He’s getting up there in age, so maybe his best option it to remain at Arsenal
