Arsenal Predicted Starting Squad Against Monaco in the Champions League

I was torn between Mertesacker and Nacho Monreal solely because Monreal has the ability to contribute offensively and his pace allows for some decent recovery speed. But Mertesacker poses a threat in the air from set pieces and he has to be absolutely chomping at the bit to put the previous Monaco match behind him.

He also has to be very aware that his starting position is in question and that he needs to continue to put up the good defensive showings we’ve seen as of late.

There will be plenty for per to do in this game. As mentioned before, Monaco will have plenty of counter attacking options and we’ll need to be able to trust in Per as our last line of defense.
