Olivier Giroud Can Play Big When It Matters

One of the main criticisms of Olivier Giroud is that he doesn’t perform well in big games. After the first leg of the Monaco tie, he fed the fire of that gruesome claim.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

But Giroud stepped up against Monaco in this second leg. I’ve never seen him fighting so hard to win possession. His goal was absolutely crucial and just another in his string of really solid goals that aren’t just tap-ins, headers and first-touches.

Giroud is one of the best strikers in the league and he’s putting some consistency together. It’s only a matter of time before people stop criticizing and start appreciating.

Or at least that’s the plan.
