Five Arsenal Players Who Could Fill A Theo Walcott Sized Gap
By Josh Sippie
Joel Campbell
Joel Campbell has been absolutely fiending to get into the Arsenal starting XI. However, since being sent out on loan for the past four years, he’s not shown Arsene Wenger enough to give him an extended stay in the Arsenal squad.
Coming into this year, it was supposed to be Campbell’s time to make it at Arsenal. However, after scoring against Benfica in the Emirates Cup, he only appeared three more times and only once as a starter, and in none of those appearances did he stand out enough, so he was yet again loaned out to develop his talents further.
While Joel Campbell prefers to play as a forward, he may take a Theo Walcott departure as an opportunity to make it at Arsenal. He’ll be 23 come next year, and that makes him the senior kid on this list. There comes a time where you have to step up, and Campbell is approaching that time.
