I think I’ve made my opinion pretty clear on the young Argentine. I want him at Arsenal and the signs are pretty positive from that standpoint. The Metro reports that Arsenal officials are meeting with Palermo to discuss the signing of the 28.9 million pound man.

We already know that club president Maurizio Zamparini flew to London a couple months ago to discuss similar things and if these new reports are true, then Arsenal are getting closer than any other team.

Juventus and Manchester United (along with half the known world) are still in the race, but for the moment, Arsenal appear to be in pole position.
