Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista

Laurent Koscienly picked up a little knock in the Liverpool affair and for that reason, I don’t see Arsene Wenger risking him. The team is healthy and he aims to keep it that way.

Plus, if you can just slide a more-than-able Gabriel Paulista in his stead, where there is very little setback, then why wouldn’t he?

On the other side, Per Mertesacker still has one of the three hats in the ring to be one of the two starting centre backs that Arsenal continuously deploys. But there’s no need yet for Wenger to set a sure-fire two when letting the three fight it out is strengthening all their forms.
