How Does Alexis Sanchez Stand up Against His PFA Award Competitors?

Harry Kane has had a superb year. His fever pitch of scoring goals has been (while not close to Giroud) better than Sanchez by some distance. But keep in mind he’s the sole striker of Tottenham, whereas Alexis is a winger responsible for more than just scoring.

Kane scores .87 goals per 90, whereas Alexis still has a very good .54 per 90. In every other statistical category, however, Alexis has the upper hand. He’s a much more dominant player across the pitch, both because of positioning and overall work ethic. Simply put, Alexis just does more, and he’s been a more vital part of his team.

Although Kane has been responsible for so many of Tottenham’s bright moments this year, the overall usefulness is to Alexis Sanchez’s hadvantage, especially now that Tottenham is fading away to close out the season.
