Arsenal have so many midfielders that if you took one or two out of the fold, we’d be fine. Santi Cazorla has been holding down the deep midfield role next to Francis Coquelin but by no means is that his best or preferred position. Jack Wilshere is going to break into the first team at some point and that’s his preferred position.

Santi Cazorla is a force to be reckoned with but it wouldn’t exactly be devastating if he were to depart. Of course it would hurt, this is Santi Cazorla, but it wouldn’t derail the team. We know that Arsene Wenger doesn’t exactly make a habit of keeping excess players. We went through all of last season with five defenders across four positions, after all.
