Arsenal Transfer Rumor Round-up for June 26

The transfer window is bearing down on us, just four days and some change away. With Arsenal’s crop of targets thinning from players signing with other teams, the herd of rumors is similarly thinning, if only slightly.

Jackson Martinez has moved to Atletico Madrid, ending Arsenal’s somewhat befuddling interest in the Colombian striker. Likewise, Geoffrey Kondogbia has chosen Inter Milan and labeled it a dream come true. Roberto Firmino has moved to Liverpool, ending what slim interest Arsenal ever had in him as well.

So with those three removed, lets get updated.

Petr Cech

According to the BBC, Petr Cech and Arsenal have agreed on personal terms and Cech is a medical away from moving the incredibly long distance from Stamford Bridge to the Emirates. Such a move will likely hasten the premature exit of either Wojciech Szczesny or David Ospina.

Arturo Vidal

Arturo Vidal’s link to Arsenal is starting to take Morgan-Schneiderlin-like form. It is on again off again depending on the day. Today, it was on again as rumor has it that Alexis, being the team mascot that he is, has been having a word or seven in Vidal’s ear about joining the Emirates.

The rumored cost is just 21.3 million pounds as reported by the Telegraph, a step down from the 25+ that Juventus wanted not so long ago.

Faouzi Ghoulam

The newcomer on this list, Ghoulam is rumored to be ready to jump off the shaky ship of Napoli and join up with Arsenal to solve their left back revolving door.

The cost is said to be right at 11 million pounds, a fee that Arsenal should be more than willing to pay for the 24-year old Algerian left back.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

For 28.7 million pounds, Aubameyang is said to be on the move from Dortmund, but then again, a lot of people are said to be on the move from Dortmund, especially over the past year, and a whopping zero people have left.

That being said, negotiations are reportedly still underway, according to the Metro, so we will see where the Gabonese striker wants to ply his trade next year.

Arda Turan

Turan is leaving Atletico and he is coming to one of the best teams in the English Premier League. Ahmet Bulut, his agent, indicates that three teams are in on the Turk and only United and Chelsea are being reported among Champion League contenders. That leaves one more club to be noticed.

That club could be Arsenal as the right wing looks for a pilot.

Laurent Koscielny

Supposedly, Real Madrid are looking to get their greasy paws on our pride and joy on the defensive line. Los Blancos are ready to offer 21 million pounds for the best defender in England, but the real question is whether or not Arsene Wenger will play ball.

Lets hope not.
