The transfer window is officially open and now all those moves that a shut window did not prevent can finally go through. Unless you live in a corner, under a rock at the bottom of a well in the depths of a cave on the ocean floor, you have heard the news that Petr Cech has arrived at Arsenal riding a donkey over palm branches that are being strewn across his donkey’s path by the likes of Theo Walcott, Arsene Wenger, Tomas Rosicky and even Wojciech Szczesny.

With that 10 million pound move out of the way, the question that we greedy Gooners want to know is “who is next?”

Here’s a look at some of the latest emerging candidates.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Eduardo Vargas

If transfer rumors had their way, Arsenal and the Chilean National team would be synonymous. Alexis Sanchez is apparently a very able and willing diplomat as not only has he (maybe) lured Arturo Vidal into joining Arsenal, but he is also on the brink of luring Eduardo Vargas as well, according to the Metro.

While Arsenal have been linked to the Napoli striker before, this one is nice and fresh because Vargas is kicking his way to greatness in the Copa America, as he is the top scorer and after that volley against Peru, I would not mind seeing similar at Arsenal.

The 25 year old is said to fetch a price under 15 million pounds, and that is probably the most appetizing facet of the rumor.

Ramadan Sobhy

Haven’t hurt of him? Do not fear, I hadn’t either up until about ten hours ago. Apparently Sobhy is the next great thing to come out of Africa. The 17 year old Egyptian striker netted 7 times in 22 appearances and as the Metro would have us believe, he is “a future legend of Egyptian football.”

Sobhy would fit the bill of a typical Arsenal wonderkid signing, so I would not put it past him.

Kwadwo Asamoah

Juventus have a lot of players that appeal to Arsenal, apparently. Asamoah is just the latest. At 26 years of age, the Ghanaian full back would bolster Arsenal’s defense. He has the versatility that Arsene Wenger looks for, as he can play left back or holding mid and if Wenger is looking for a two-for one bargain buy, he could do worse.

That being said, the move is still in its infant stages so don’t expect anything soon.

Jeffrey Schlupp

More from Arsenal Transfer Rumours

The somewhat skeptical Arsenal transfer link has signed a new four year deal with Leicester, per SkySports so we can put this rumor to bed. However, when Pedro signed a new deal with Barcelona, his rumor was put to bed… for about a month, but now it is back.

Schlupp never really made much sense anyway. We already grabbed Calum Chambers for the same purpose.

Charly Musonda Jr.

Why not follow Petr Cech to Arsenal when it clearly made the world-class keeper so happy? Charly Musonda Jr. is a Chelsea product with a ton of potential, and given that he is young, Arsenal are interested.

The 18-year old is said to cost less than 9 million pounds, but if Chelsea opt for a loan, as they likely will, Arsenal should dip out of the competition.

Arturo Vidal

Where to start? This deal was done and undone about ten times in the span of a day. Now, Vidal’s agent has spoken out and said that they have made no contact with Arsenal.

But that does not mean they have not spoken with Alexis Sanchez?

Who knows. Rest assured that this rumor is not going anywhere anytime soon.

Next: Lacazette a serious option now?
