Samir Nasri, Karim Benzema, and the Latest Arsenal Transfer Rumors for July 5
By Josh Sippie
After several slow days in the transfer rumor department that only had Arsenal linked to potential exits, the incoming rumors have picked up with gusto. A lot of old Arsenal links are picking up and some new ones have emerged as well. Let’s get started.
Munir

The 19-year old Barcelona prodigy is finding it tough to get first team playing time with a team composed of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar. Who wouldn’t? As such, Munir is seeking to ply his trade elsewhere. According to sources including ESPNFC, Arsenal are currently beating Chelsea in the race to sign the youngster.
Munir would at least find an opportunity at Arsenal. He need look no further than Hector Bellerin for how a young, rising talent can make an impact.
Somehow, half of the known world is yet again in on Pedro, despite him committing his future to Barcelona with a new deal that locks him in until 2019. Apparently all that does is rise his price tag, as now the rumored cost is around 18.7 million pounds.
The Telegraph is wisely reporting that a move is slim unless Pedro demands a move. That does not seem likely given the circumstances.
Karim Benzema
This rumor is hanging around, but I am oddly okay with that. The Daily Star is reporting that Arsenal are readying a 17 million pound bid, which weighs in at about half of what he is valued at. However, with that rumor on one side of things, the other side is reporting that Manchester United have stumped up a 30 million pound offer, which would force Aarsenal to up their bidding game or lose out (via caughtoffside).

Samir Nasri
This rumor gave me a good chuckle. Since ruthlessly ditching Arsenal in 2011, Samir Nasri has not been key to Manchester City’s plans, and as such, rumors started to emerge that he wanted to come back to Arsenal. While we were fully aware that this was never going to happen, it was still funny.
Having heard the rumors himself, Nasri tweeted: “Never asked anyone to comeback!! Really happy where I am right now so stop with your silly story” (via the Manchester Evening News)
Lukas Podolski
Podolski has signed with Galatasaray for a minuscule initial fee of 1.8 million pounds, with future installments coming depending on how the Turkish side does in the Champions League. I personally would not have minded holding on to Podolski and apparently Arsene Wenger attempted to get him to stay, but he had no luck.
