Serge Gnabry Set to be a Superstar Says Mesut Ozil
By Josh Sippie
In case you missed the news, Mesut Ozil was the latest Arsenal product to unleash his Ultimate XI and after the phony outrage at Jack Wilshere naming so many turncoats in his XI, Ozil had a lot of pressure on his shoulders.

He only chose two Arsenal men.
Naturally, he chose a ton of his former Real Madrid team mates. From Cristiano Ronaldo to Sergio Ramos, it was riddled with world-class athletes from Mesut Ozil’s prolific career at the club level and the international level.
Mesut Ozil also chose Santi Cazorla, adding to the little Spaniard’s incredibly long list of being chosen for Ultimate XIs.
But the shocking selection that the German superstar made was of another team mate, and not one that featured in Arsenal’s starting squad at all last year. Take a look and listen:
That’s right, Serge Gnabry.
While Mesut Ozil painted it as a joke, ‘he’s sitting right here,’ it may be a bit more substantial than Ozil let on. Serge Gnabry is going to be a special player. At 18 years old, he already made a name for himself in the Arsenal first team in netting his first goal and now that he is a healthy 20 year old, he is ready to burst into the first team yet again, this time for good.
Serge Gnabry was ready to stick in the first team, but a knee injury kept him sidelined for the duration of the year. He returned to training at the end of the year but never managed to make it back to the pitch.

This year is a different story.
There has been plenty of talk over who will rise to the role of right wing at Arsenal. Aaron Ramsey had to play the role against his will last season but that seems unlikely to continue. Jack Wilshere also could run the role but he prefers a deep-lying role and will probably look to compete for it.
The front runner for the role is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, but he cannot play every game and given the similarities between the Ox and Serge Gnabry, pitting the two against each other would provide excellent internal competition and drive the two young stars to achieving maximum potential. Not to mention when one has to start over the other, Arsenal do not miss out on much.
Winning the praise of Mesut Ozil is no small feat. Ozil is a world-class midfielder with one of the best minds in the game. He is what we like to call a footballing genius, and for him to pick out the potential of a young star, that kid must be something special.
Gnabry has the full package to be a successful winger. He has the speed, the technical ability, the tendency to score and fantastic physicality as well. It is just a matter of time.
