Gonzalo Higuain and 5 Players Arsenal Shouldn’t Sign
As it stands right now, it doesn’t seem as though Arsenal need to be extremely active in the transfer market. Quite the contrary: we have the deepest squad that we have had in a while, as the starter in each position has a viable backup — although some would argue that this is not the case in holding midfield.
In a recent Arseblog piece, the writer gives a list of the positions and which players can fill them:

"GK – Cech, Szczesny, Ospina, Martinez RB – Bellerin, Debuchy, Chambers CB – Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gabriel, Chambers LB – Monreal, Gibbs DM – Coquelin, Arteta, Flamini CM – Wilshere, Ramsey, Cazorla, Ozil, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Rosicky FW (wide) – Alexis, Walcott, Welbeck, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gnabry, Ozil, Cazorla, Campbell ST – Giroud, Welbeck, Walcott, Akpom, Sanogo"
Looking just at this list, there isn’t a great deal to be desired, as this looks like a team that will challenge for the Premier League title.
At this point, I really don’t feel that we should bring in a huge signing. If Arsène Wenger is going to be active, I’d like to see a fairly cheap cover for Francis Coquelin, as I stated in my previous article.
That being said, I’ve seen a lot of far-fetched rumors, but sometimes, they get repeated with such frequency that I start to question my own doubts about their likelihood.
So here are five such players that have been heavily linked to Arsenal and why I don’t think we should sign them.
