5 Thoughts From Arsenal’s Defeat of the Singapore XI
By Josh Sippie
5. The Youngsters Look Confident
Yes, it was only the Singapore XI, but it gave Arsenal an excellent opportunity to give a couple promising youngster time with some of Arsenal’s regulars. Alex Iwobi and Chuba Akpom started the match and Jon Toral, Chris Willock, Gedion Zelalem and Daniel Crowley came on late.
I do not think I need to speak for Chuba Akpom, but I will later on in the slide show.

Alex Iwobi showed really good pace and ability to find space, but it was clear the nerves may still have been niggling at him because he had several opportunities squandered on goal. But that is to be expected.
Jon Toral looked like an athlete out there. He looked composed and in control.
The same can be said of the future star Daniel Crowley. Crowley has been hyped as a big deal by Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla and Arsene Wenger so it was nice to see him in action.
Gedion Zelalem has even more hype than Crowley and he looked just as good as he danced around the opposition in their own box and showed a bit of physicality that we did not know he had.
Willock was not seen much, but what he did show looked promising.
