5 Thoughts From Arsenal’s Defeat of the Singapore XI

3. The Ox can and will shoot
As an Arsenal fan, you hear a lot about potential and the future but it is never really something you can bank on. Well, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, you can bank on it, and you have always been able to.
This kid is something else and now that he is healthy (lets hope he stays that way), Arsenal have a potentially world-class individual out on the right wing or wherever else they want to put him.

One of the main problems I have witnessed with Arsenal over the past couple years is that no one wants to shoot. The little passes within the box keep going with no end product. That problem has gradually subsided, but through it all, the one person who was never afraid to cut lose and let it fly was Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and we saw it again against the Singapore XI.
No matter where he was, 10 yards or 40 yards, the Ox was loading his cannon of a right right foot and firing. He had several just off the mark, but the overall takeaway was fantastic.
Not only that, but his dribbling was fantastic, but again, we kind of knew it was anyway. He looked like another version of Alexis out there. If he can stay healthy, look for the Ox to become an irreplaceable part of this Gunner’s squad.
