2. Jack Wilshere is here

Watching the game on a bit of a 1994-looking feed from a streaming website (is that okay to admit?), it was often hard to see who had the ball. I knew who was on the pitch, but at times I found myself wondering why Mesut Ozil looked so fearless and dominant.

I soon came to terms with the fact that it was not Ozil, seeing as how he was not in the team, it was Jack Wilshere.

Wilshere and the Ox were in and out of the center of the pitch, but wherever Wilshere went, positive things happened. In late June I made the case that Wilshere could challenge Mesut Ozil for the No. 10 role and that is becoming less and less like a pipe dream.

Wilshere looked just like he did to close out the year. His situation is much like the Ox – if he can stay healthy, we have struck the jackpot.
