The situation with Karim Benzema has all the makings of a potential heartbreak. While we do not know the facts, various sources say that Benzema likes Arsenal and Arsenal like Benzema, but Real Madrid may be unwilling to sell. Plus, Benzema has commented that he would love a career at Real Madrid, which he has essentially already had.

Arsenal Director Lord Harris spoke of a list he receives every summer from Arsene Wenger containing all the players he likes. Harris had this to say, without naming names: “On the list is a centre forward, but I’m not going to tell you who he is. You’ve got to get the other team to want to sell him, but I think he wants to come. It basically comes down to whether the other team can find a superstar to replace him, because they don’t have to sell.”

Harris pointed out that Arsenal have over 200 million pounds in the bank (so a typical United spending spree) and that whoever Wenger wants, he can have, other than Messi or Ronaldo.

The Benzema escapades look to be a long time in the making, as the only thing that could push him away from Real Madrid is seeing that he will not have many opportunities there.
