5 Arsenal Players Primed for Breakout Years
By Josh Sippie
2015/16 is a huge season for Arsenal. It has been awhile since Arsenal have gone into a season with very few question marks and very few needs. This year, they come in with both. Having signed Petr Cech to take over first-team goal keeper duties, Arsenal have cemented the rear end of the pitch about as solidly as they could.
Francis Coquelin in the middle of the pitch takes care of the decade-old need of a physical defensive midfielder. Add in Alexis up front and we have our clinical finisher. It could be a huge year.

Every year, there are a few breakout performers. It is a new start, a fresh beginning, and a chance to go out there, healthy, and make your statement on the hype that has been surrounding you for so many years.
This years’ breakout player was Le Coq, without a doubt. Alexis can not really be considered breakout, although he was fantastic, because we knew the quality player he was. But Le Coq came from literally nowhere and became the most dominant defensive midfielder in the league.
This coming year there are plenty of candidates for potential breakout player of the year. Some young guys that you may think of are Gedion Zelalem and Serge Gnabry. Zelalem has been doing outstanding with the U21 USMNT side, but at 18 years of age, he may find it hard to widdle his way into a jam-packed Arsenal midfield.
Likewise, Serge Gnabry is on the cusp of brilliance, and if this list was top six players, he would have been number six, but barring some serious injury problems, I can not see Gnabry breaking into the team in a big way either.
So, without beating the drum anymore, here are the top five players primed for breakouts at Arsenal.
