Arsenal have the not-really-important yet all-important FA Community Shield coming up this Sunday, August 2nd, and while it is only a preseason trophy, it is so much more than that. It is the first piece of silverware available in the season. But even beyond the whole ‘silverware’ thing, it is a match up against Chelsea.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Arsenal are a much-improved team, so much so that they are now the favorites to take home the title this year. They have been absolutely demolishing everyone in the preseason, as they took home the Barclay’s Asia Trophy and the Emirates Cup with only one goal surrendered and fourteen goals scored. That is pretty emphatic.

The next task is Chelsea. Like I said, the fact that it is Chelsea makes it so much more important. Arsenal may have faced Everton, Lyon, and Wolfsburg – all viable opponents – but Chelsea is a team that Arsenal have a long history of struggling with. They just are not good against Chelsea.

This would be the perfect opportunity to turn the corner and put down Chelsea.

More from Arsenal News

Arsene Wenger has a lot of tough choices to make going into the match. First of all, Alexis Sanchez will obviously not be with the team, as he is set to resume training the day after. That leaves the left wing completely open for business, seeing as how Arsenal was monopolized at the left wing by Alexis last season.

The midfield is also going to be a cluster of questions. Who will start alongside Francis Coquelin? Aaron Ramsey wants the position and he has earned it but can you really sit Santi Cazorla?

Striker is a question mark as well. Theo Walcott or Olivier Giroud, who do you go for?

Lets attempt to answer those questions now.
