Arsenal and Chelsea Position by Position Comparison to Prove that Arsenal Will Take Title
By Josh Sippie
All the “experts” out there have pretty much widdled the Premier League title race down to one question: “Can Arsenal beat Chelsea?” By that token, only two teams stand to win the title this year. There are not many out there who would make an argument against those two teams, though, and for good reason.

Chelsea, the obvious title defenders, did not have to make many upgrades to remain title contenders. And they have not thus far. This is just about the same team that won the title a year ago. Why fix what is not broken, right?
Arsenal, on the other hand, finished in third place but they accumulated more points in the second half of the season than any other team. That right there is enough to qualify them as contenders. However, to make their case even stronger, they added one of the best keepers in the world in Petr Cech. They are also seeing Jack Wilshere, Theo Walcott, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain return to health as well as Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud, who missed large portions of the season.
Safe to say this Gunner’s squad is not to be trifled with.
Arsenal is also the type of team that gets more dangerous the more time they have to gel. They are all about competing as a team and meshing as one unit. This kind of play is obviously enhanced the more a team grows together.
Another year of Alexis Sanchez can only mean good things as well, just like another year of Eden Hazard means to Chelsea.
With all these things in mind, lets take a position-by-position look at the two heavyweight contenders and decide who has the stronger case for title contention, based solely on the personnel. We will start at the back.
