Luckily for Arsenal fans, there were quite a few strong fantasy performers last year. David Ospina was pretty good for the second half of the season, just like Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker who recorded 120 and 121 points respectively. At the same time, Hector Bellerin proved a massive steal, while Nacho Monreal saw a solid fantasy season with the clean sheets we were getting.
Although Aaron Ramsey had a disappointing year compared to the 2013-14 campaign, Santi Cazorla had a fantastic second half of the season, while Mesut Özil had his patches of good numbers. Obviously, no Arsenal player’s points compared to those of Alexis Sanchez, who totaled 207 over the course of the season as his value skyrocketed.
I found Olivier Giroud a solid pick in 2015, since he hit a phenomenal scoring run, and although it dipped in April-May, he still showed that he could be a top-notch fantasy player.
There were a few players like Danny Welbeck and Kieran Gibbs who didn’t live up to how well I expected them to perform, but fantasy is all about surprises.
Here are 5 Arsenal players that I considered getting for the following season and why I did or didn’t.
