5. World-Class Striker Needed

I’ve been a proponent of Olivier Giroud for a long time now and for the record I still think he’s a valuable member of our squad, but it’s getting old watching our offense completely stall too often.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Giroud didn’t look dangerous in front of goal and even spurned some decent chances late on (he very well might not have been mentally sound after that collision).

In my opinion there is no one better in the Premier League, in the striker position, at holding up and creating chances.  Maybe it is time to get one that is the best at scoring goals.  I wish there was a way to fit Giroud and another striker in the starting eleven, but it does seem unlikely and sadly for Giroud I think he must make way.

Maybe, jut maybe, a more prolific striker (*cough*, Benzema, cough*) might be able to take us to the next level.

While we are on the subject, another striker in general might be nice considering our backups are Theo Walcott and Alexis Sanchez. While both are quality athletes, neither have been particularly impressive in the center forward position (Just ask Thierry Henry) and if Giroud injures himself things could get ugly.
