4. Olivier Giroud – 81
Sticking with the trend of guys I have already complained about being underrated last year, lets move on to Olivier Giroud. Giroud went on a streak this year where he scored more goals per 90 than anyone in the world other than Lionel Messi.

I am not saying that warrants a Lionel Messi rating, but it at least deserves an 83 or maybe even an 84. Hearkening back to the previous slide, Olivier Giroud scored more than Rooney and Silva as well and he did it in an injury-shortened season.
But even aside from the goal-scoring, Giroud’s link-up passing play has to be getting noticed. That in and of itself is worth at least another point boost.
Giroud is not going to see much of a boost for the same reason that he was underrated last year. He is not fancy on the ball, he does not dazzle or shimmy our faces off (whatever that means), he just gets the job done. That should be enough, but in an entertainment driven world, it is not.
