5. Danny Welbeck Celebrates Not Being Good Enough
Danny Welbeck has had a rough first go at Arsenal. Since being “liberated” from the confines of Manchester United, the goals never seemed to come for the clearly-talented forward.
However, despite a lack of goals, the one goal that will stand out in our memories was his go-ahead goal against Manchester United in the FA Cup. It wasn’t just a goal, it was, well… a goal, but an epic one, mainly due to the celebration. Take a look:
All of this obviously came after Louis van Gaal wisely stated that “He played three seasons at Manchester United but he doesn’t have the record of Van Persie or Rooney,” (via the Daily Star). The fact that Welbeck did better than both van Persie and Falcao (About 70 million pounds worth of striking power!) is just salt in the wound.
It is usually common courtesy not to celebrate against one’s former team, at least not the first time, but given the magnitude of the goal and the fact that Louis van Gaal was probably in the midst of choking on his own words when the ball went in the net, we find it an excusable occurrence for the Danny Welbeck celebration to occur.
