The Algerian left back is so obviously for sale that it hurts. Napoli have named their price – 8.7 million pounds. For a 24-year old left back that was the only consistent part of a very inconsistent Napoli side, that is highway robbery.

Arsenal may already have Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs, but that is all they have, and another option never hurt anyone. Ghoulam has the makings of a quality left back with tremendous upside and such a cheap transfer almost seems like a no-brainer.

But of course, other teams are in on the guy, as Inter have been poking and prodding into his potential with their side as well.

Arsenal can always use more defense. Both Monreal and Gibbs have injury and consistency problems and Ghoulam has neither.
