After just three games, Arsène Wenger already finds his side five points off leaders Manchester City in the Premier League in what can be described as an underwhelming start to the 2015/16 season. After the opening 2-0 loss to West Ham and a narrow 2-1 win at Selhurst Park, Arsenal fans were hoping for a strong statement against an improved Liverpool side boasting Christian Benteke and Philippe Coutinho.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

However, it turned out to be an extremely frustrating game at the Emirates on Monday, as Arsenal’s 66% possession was not enough to grab a goal. Still, some fans feel cheated by the incorrect offside call which prevented Aaron Ramsey from getting his first goal of the season after a perfectly weighted pass from Santi Cazorla.

One of the big plusses from the game was Petr Cech’s heroic display, as the new signing pulled off two outrageous saves, one on Benteke and one on Coutinho. Also, Francis Coquelin was brilliant, pulling off five tackles and six interceptions in the kind of performance that Arsenal fans will want from the Frenchman every week.

Additionally, it was impressive that the Gunners were able to keep a clean sheet against Liverpool, given that both center backs missed the game — Per Mertesacker was ill while Laurent Koscielny had a back problem. In their spots, Calum Chambers and Gabriel Paulista came in and were barely able to prevent Liverpool from scoring.

Despite these bright spots from the match, there were a few negatives, such as missed chances from Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud, and in my opinion, the match overall left me very conflicted about how to react.

Looking ahead, I do have a few concerns about the squad, so here are five major questions that I have following the match.
