This one really made me sick to my stomach. Arsenal are linked to every Borussia Dortmund player under the sun and it never pans out. Dortmund have too much to play for and too much pride to part ways with any of their key components.

However with a new manager and a new regime, Jakub Blaszczykowski was on the out. He was a fan favorite and incredibly respected by everyone associated with the club but for the time, he just did not fit in and his injuries had come at the worst possible time.

The price tag was said to be about £10 million.

A 29-year old attacking midfielder with the Champion’s League and International experience that Kuba has for £10 million is a steal. It is a no brainer. Arsenal historically struggle in European competitions and Kuba has been one of the best in that very competition. Yet Arsenal did not even look at the guy.

Would he have been a surplus? Sure. But Arsene Wenger did say that any exceptional talents would be on his radar. Kuba is an exceptional talent. With Kuba suiting up on the opposite side of Alexis, we would have had a tremendous winger/midfielder on the right side with exquisite composure, an eye for key passes and an ability to score as well. Plus, his work rate can stand up to Alexis’s.

It would have put the Ox back on the bench, but the kid is still young and could learn from Kuba.

The Polish international agreed to a year-long loan with Fiorentina.
