Arsenal’s FIFA 16 Player Ratings Dissected

Laurent Koscielny – 83, Per Mertesacker – 83, Gabriel Paulista – 78

Pain in the Arsenal pegged these three at 84, 80 and 78, respectively. Clearly we completely misread Per Mertesacker’s season. While it seems as though Gabriel Paulista has earned the right to start over Mertesacker given the aging German’s lack of pace, EA Sports has ruled in favor of the experience.

Seeing Mertesacker stay at the same rating was pretty shocking. On the other side, Laurent Koscielny only gained 2 points. How Monreal has increased 4 points and Gabriel 3 points yet the Boss only gets 2 points is beyond me. Koscielny is one of the best defenders in the league and he needs to earn a rating that reflects that.

Meanwhile, Gabriel’s 3 points are likely almost entirely due to the fact that he now plays in England. Hooray for biases.
